British contemporary artist based in Yorkshire
My first studio was in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. I was there for five years from 2013 to 2018. Creative Arts Hub is a West Yorkshire based arts centre which supports artists in the creation and promotion of new artwork. It houses 12 studio spaces and a gallery, and manages an ongoing programme of exhibitions by contemporary artists. The many and varied community focused work includes activities and workshops for all age ranges, held both at the central Mirfield base and at other venues and events locally. Now I have an exciting new home studio. A summer project was always a standard thing I did. "Why do you set yourself such tasks?!" a neighbour once asked. This year the studio was that project. I'm a little out of the loop, but I think the advantages far outweigh the down side. Travelling to work was never a good idea. There's been a lull in my output for a few months. I need to get working ..!!
